SHELTON, Wash. – Diabetes and pre-diabetes have become a national health concern that everyone should be aware of, with an understanding of how hypoglycemia (low blood sugar levels) must be regulated in the prevention and management of diabetes. “Understanding Hypoglycemia” will be the topic of the next Mason General Hospital & Family of Clinics Allyn Diabetes Support Group meeting on Thursday, May 23, 2019 from 1 to 2 p.m. in the Port of Allyn building’s meeting room.

MGH&FC Certified Diabetes Educator Carmen Eucker, RN, BSN, will be in attendance to discuss the effects, prevention and treatment of hypoglycemia, explaining it in detail and answering any individual questions or concerns.  The meeting is open to anyone affected by diabetes or pre-diabetes, friends and family members of those managing the condition, and anyone with an interest in learning more about diabetes and its prevention. 

The Allyn Diabetes Support Group, affiliated with the American Diabetes Association, usually meets every fourth Thursday of the month from September to June. These free meetings are designed to support, encourage and inform everyone in the community about the many ways to manage diabetes.
